Note that the ivory in these handles comes from fossilized woolly mammoths that are tens of thousands of years old - NOT elephants. The ivory used in these corkscrews is obtained using a process that is legal, scientifically ethical, and environmentally sound.
These corkscrews are handmade by highly skilled artisans in the vicinity of Laguiole (region of Aubrac) in accordance with the region's knife-making traditions. Each one is handmade by a single craftsman, and each one is a unique work of art.
